After a great discussion, sterile controversies and the clarifications of the regional councilor Sergio Berlato, Veneto Regional Council officially approved the proposed law fines of up to 3600 euros for anyone who intentionally disturbs hunting and fishing throughout the region. These are the "Regional rules on disturbance to the exercise of hunting and fishing activities“, A text that has divided local politics and sparked one debate after another.
Berlato is the promoter of the law: the sanctions are very high and the opponents have created in recent days a lot of confusion, speaking of fines also for unaware passers-by or cyclists. The punishable disturbance must be intentional and such as to prevent activity. The minimum administrative sanction will be equal to 600 €, while the maximum will come, as already mentioned, to 3600 €.
There was no lack of criticism of the approval, in particular the difference between the penalties for hunters who shoot too close to roads or houses was highlighted (between 200 and 600) and the sanctions of the new law on hunting disorder to highlight the alleged disproportion.
