In two days, Tuesday 26 March 2019, the Regional Council of the Marche will have to investigate the motion of the director Sandro Bisonni which concerns compensation to farmers with hunting easements. Bisonni himself explained that it is not a measure linked to damage suffered by animals. Furthermore, according to the councilor from the Marche region, the law in question is not well known by the primary sector and instead should be investigated to understand how to enforce the specific rights.
The promoter of the motion also highlighted how it is a right and not a privilege to be asserted, given that the Marche Region is not paying the reimbursements. L'article 842 of the Civil Code provides for hunters to enter private properties armed, even in the absence of the consent of the legitimate owners. L'article 15 of the National Hunting Law, on the other hand, it provides for a cash compensation for the owners and tenants of the funds subject to what is known as "hunting easement".
If the motion is upheld, there would be a new management of the hunt. There LAC (League for the Abolition of the Hunt) is convinced, in particular, that this measure will lead to the conclusion of the hunting activity, at least in the form and manner known Nowadays. Still 48 hours and the outcome of the vote will be known.
