Stops, drives, consents, flights and chases; but also hugs, handshakes, shining eyes and emotionally charged awards in a setting that reconciles with the Infinite and puts man in real contact with Nature. All this was, and will continue to be for the future, the Monte Ranne Trophy - Fabrizio Cardarelli Memorial, a dog trial for pointing dogs that kept everyone in suspense for almost a month, with its stages that have established a final classification. without doubts. But also, and above all, with his special recognition dedicated to Fabrizio Cardarelli, the dog hunter mayor who died prematurely last December.
His figure as a "man of the people with a big heart, lover of hunting" was remembered by another mayor: that of Campello sul Clitunno, Domizio Natali, who spoke at the award ceremony. Present, with great emotion and pleasure of all, one of the two sons of Fabrizio Cardarelli, Carlo, who particularly liked the painting created by the Spoleto artist Rosa Musso. The work portrays a English setter and a pointer stationary on woodcock, which flies in front of the dogs, with a benign and somewhat "bulky" shadow looming over the scene. In the background, the tree-lined avenue of Life, with plants full of spring flowers to signify that the scene takes place when hunting is closed and that, therefore, that woodcock will not fall but will fly far away where only migrants know how to fly.
Coming to the test, the English setter Rocky from Agliani confirmed his skills as a "cannibal" shown previously, also dominating with merit the stage of last Sunday - XNUMX July -, which took place as always in the "Clitunno" dog training area. , above the Acera di Campello. Rocky won with full merit on the pointer Corinne by Mazzoli, the setter Rea also by Agliani and the setter Duncan by Ricci. Excellent also the proof offered by Athos, again by Agliani. Four other dogs in the standings, thanks to an excellent presence of partridges that made numerous encounters possible.
The final ranking saw, as mentioned, Rocky win the 2018 Monte Ranne Trophy, a painting created by the artist Erika Lavosi of Cascia depicting an English setter and a pointer standing on a small group of partridges. For Agliani there is also a training card valid for the 2019 season, a Magnum bottle and a 150 euro voucher at Ilaria Farinelli's Hunting, Fishing and Fireworks armory, in San Martino in Trignano. In second place the setter Alba di Gentileschi, while the pointer Corinne di Mazzoli closed the podium. The Fabrizio Cardarelli Memorial, combined with the last stage of the Trophy, instead went to Duncan di Ricci, the youngest of the subjects presented to receive the title of Excellent during the test.
The day of dog lovers ended, as tradition dictates and as required by the organization, with a snack-lunch all together in the mountains, at the Monte Maggiore refuge, in the heart of the area. dog training. Sharing means first of all cultural growth: this is one of the main objectives set by the Campello sul Clitunno sections of Federcaccia and Anuu and the Spoleto section of Federcaccia.
