It opens this morning in Naples on XX Italian Convention of Ornithology (CIO), which will host important speakers and leading Italian and international scholars until the 29th. Present, and it is a justified reason for pride, too Italian Federation of Hunting with his researchers, Dr. Michele Sorrenti and Daniel Tramontana, and two collaborators of the Migratory Birdlife Office, Dr. Sergio Scebba and Alessandro Tedeschi.
In Naples they will present two oral reports and 5 scientific posters to illustrate the results of applied research in the ornithological field on species of particular naturalistic interest such as woodcock, lark, song thrush, snipe and whisk as well as addressing important management issues such as the "adaptive sampling" model of turtledove in our country, as required by International Management Plan recently approved in the community.
The Migratory Birdlife Office has in fact promoted for the first time in a scientific forum of this level a Round Table entitled "Towards an adaptive management plan for the turtledove in Italy". This initiative, positively received by the IOC Scientific Committee, arose from the need to launch within two years in all EU member states a model of “adaptive management of the collection” for this species. Another important step in recognizing the validity and concreteness of the studies and research carried out by the hunting world with the collaboration of all hunters.
