Open letter from the President of Anuu Migratoristi to Osvaldo Veneziano, commenting on the latest speech by the president of Arcicaccia
Dear Venetian,
I read your latest editorial on the hunting sites.
You are right to be "pissed" with the current government majority, but not for the reasons you say.
I am more pissed off than you because, despite the amendments to Law no. 157/92, as well as on the attempt to correctly transpose the Community directives on the subject, only so many instrumental falsehoods have been said for mere animal rights or political purposes (those were "flying asses"), the current Majority has not been able to make the truth and give the answers expected by Italian hunters.
The truth - which you know well but which you cannot and do not want to recognize for obvious reasons - is that the legislative amendments shared by the Italian hunters are limited to highlighting the need for necessary adjustments in full compliance with all European directives, guidelines guide of the European Charter of sustainable hunting approved by the Council of Europe in 2008 and above all giving correct transposition and rational application of the interpretative guide of the Birds Directive.
And do not bring up trite and coy stories such as rings for calls, live owls, species and periods that can be hunted, exceptions, catches, hunting at sixteen or other issues that some today consider impossible, because they are such only for those who oppose them. or chatters about it without in any way deepening its technical and legal aspects and does not know (or does not want to make known) the European reality.
And rest assured that no one wants to undermine the importance of the role of land management for wildlife - hunting purposes, just as no one intends to support the privatization of hunting that they obsessively flag as possible threats.
Threats that could become real only when, precisely because of those who hinder legislative renewal, the agricultural world will really have their pockets full and will act accordingly to try to resolve more fully fundamental issues such as those relating to the prevention and compensation of the damage produced. from wildlife and to the full exploitation of the multifunctional role of the companies in the sector that hosts us in the exercise of our passion.
But you are you and I am me, so it is right that everyone behaves as they see fit, as long as they do not distort the reality of the facts or take responsibility for them.
And you twist the reality of the facts, thus proposing new "flying donkeys", even misquoting the research that FACE Italia and CNCN have commissioned to ASTRA: the Italians have not spoken out against the changes to the current law and not even in its favor . They expressed themselves arguing, as it should be, the need for a hunt that respects the rules, but at the same time declaring that they do not know them in most cases. Imagine if they know our proposed changes. Unfortunately, many only know the exploitation disclosed in this regard. We have to see, then, who was really "disgraced".
In any case, if hoping for a legislative change, as it was also hoped for and shared by me, means being a "pro-hunting" extremist, then I accept the qualification: I am the first "pro hunting" extremist and I reciprocate your "curses" unfortunately considering you on the other side of the fence.
The President ANUUMigratorists
Marco Castellani
