Federcaccia Genoa has published the following note: “Today the Tar Liguria pronounced the sentence on the appeal presented by LAC, ENPA WWF and LAV on regional hunting calendar 2019/2020. Beyond the considerations expressed on the work of the Region and on the "timing" with which the applicants presented the appeal, here are the consequences of this ruling on the current season:
- The two additional days for the hunting from stalking to migratory in the months of October and November they ARE SAFE except for the Cesena species for which it will be possible to take advantage of only one additional day;
- The song thrush hunt will close on January 20 instead of January 31;
- The hunt for Mallard, moorhen, coot, teal, pintail, wigeon, shoveler, garganey, gadwall, water rail, whisk, snipe and pochard will cease on January 20 instead of January 31;
- Tufted duck hunting is prohibited;
- The possibility of continuing the collection of wild boar until January 31st if the quota is not reached by January 6th IT IS SAVE;
- From January 20 to January 31, the hunt for anatids can only take place from stalks located more than 500 meters from the wetlands;
- The hunt for pochards and lapwings is forbidden;
- The procedures for noting the card "At the time of ascertained killing" and the half hour of hunting after sunset for migratory stalking game REMAIN IN FORCE;
- The closure of the woodcock hunt REMAINS CONFIRMED ON JANUARY 20
- The closure of the redwing REMAINS CONFIRMED AS OF JANUARY 31st.
THE REGION OF LIGURIA WILL ASSESS THAT INITIATIVES TO UNDERTAKE IN THE LIGHT OF THIS PRONUNICATION (I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED). Finally, I would like to inform you that on Thursday 10 October last, the appeal put by the Liguria Region against the TAR ruling on the 2018/2019 calendar (LAST SEASON) went to trial before the Council of State, in particular for the early closure of 20 January 2019 of redwing and woodcock. The ruling is expected to be published in about a month. As you can see the main battle is played on dates of closure of the various species of migratory game therefore the decision of the Council of State on the matter is of considerable importance. I will keep you updated on this too ”.
