Shooting: Athletes from six nations competing - At Tav Umbriaverde in Massa Martana (PG), great skeet shooting.
The Umbrian platforms of the Tav Umbriaverde in Massa Martana (PG) are transformed for a weekend into the navel of the world for Double Trap enthusiasts. Two events that have attracted the world elite of the discipline to the facility: the 1st International Grand Prix, which will take place tomorrow Friday 6 May, and the 2nd National Grand Prix which will see the shooters engaged on Sunday 8 May.
Competing in the 1st Grand Prix International will be international champions such as the Russian Vasily Mosin, Vice World Champion in office, the Indian Rajyavandhan Singh Rathore, silver at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, the Maltese William Chetcuti, who has just returned from Beijing ( CHN) with the gold of the 3rd Round of the World Cup around his neck, in addition of course to the great local champions such as Daniele Di Spigno (Fiamme Oro), Marco Innocenti, Claudio Franzoni led by Francesco D'Aniello (Fiamme Oro), medal of Silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and reigning European Champion.
Tomorrow, Friday 6 May, there will therefore be 40 carefully selected shooters from 6 nations (Italy, Russia, Malta, India, Morocco and Hungary) who will compete on the distance of 150 qualifying targets and 50 final targets.
The same competition formula will be reserved, on Sunday 8 May, for the Excellence and 1st category shooters and for the Juniores qualification who will participate in the 2nd Grand Prix.
As for 2nd and 3rd category shooters, the course will be different: 120 qualifying targets (4 series of 15 double-goals each) and 30 final targets.
