Not a day goes by without talking about environmentalists and animal rights activists who lash out at the hunt. After the appeal to the Regional Administrative Court of Sicily against the hunting calendar 2017-2018, a similar story is taking place in Sardinia. The association Legal Intervention Group challenged the calendar of Sardinia through an appeal to the Regional Administrative Court against the days dedicated to hare and partridge hunting.
The president of the non-profit organization, Stefano Deliperi explained how the appeal was designed to contrast the days of 24 September and 1 October next. In particular, the game bag was not "digested", very close to 72 thousand hares and 144 thousand Sardinian partridges, game that can be hunted by almost 36 thousand authorized island hunters.
The Group believes that the authorization for the hunting has arrived despite the lack of knowledge of textures of animals, with the definition "tending to decrease" which can be read in Sardinian wildlife-hunting plan. Fires and drought are two other reasons for strengthening the appeal, given that the Region has declared a state of adverse weather.
