Encouraged by the results obtained with the experience gained in 2020, Italian Federation of Hunting has decided to repeat - always relying on an independent consultancy firm - the collection and reporting of the many activities carried out and shared with its associates, economically quantifying its value for citizens and the environment.
Data and figures based on precise and recognized facts and methodologies, which outline hunting and hunters in a very different way from how one continues ideologically and emotionally to support in certain environments. Not a cost to society, therefore, but a resource prominent.
Thus was born the second Social Report - a tool now widespread in the majority of companies - to give a concrete, measurable and comparable measure over time of what the Federation carries out in its sector of competence and in other fields of civil society. Let's highlight the highlights.
Although 2020 was a particularly difficult year due to the pandemic, the Federation proved to be always active and present. Indeed, above all the need and the will to give concrete support to local communities, public institutions and the National Health System involved in the fight against Covid - alongside the usual work of finding resources to be donated to associations, foundations or other third party entities sector engaged in voluntary work and civil protection - was a spur to all sections and members. There was thus an increase of + 54% in social fundraising initiatives compared to 2019, with an increase in the amount raised which is almost unbelievable: + 856%. An effort that translated into figures has generated a amount netto equal to 1.182.000,32 Euros entirely donated.
Apart from emergencies, which always see hunters on the front line, faunal management and environmental protection are among the major commitments for the Federation. Despite the forced reduction in the number of actions fielded, the wildlife management initiatives organized and conducted during 2020 they saw the involvement of thousands of members for a cumulative number of 1.348 working days, generating an overall social impact of 363.600,00 Euros, which with a different consideration and involvement of the hunting world by the institutions it can potentially generate a social impact of € 27.861.120,00.
During 2020, theorganization and implementation of 3 health surveillance initiatives, of which one related to the monitoring of African swine fever and 2 of avian.
The environmental initiatives mainly concerned works for the rehabilitation or cleaning of natural areas; reclamation of rivers, streams and lakes; fight against poaching, for a total of 116 shares and 7.340 total hours. The overall social impact generated is equal to € 234.880,00. A figure that is already relevant in itself, which with the aforementioned premises could generate a potential social impact of € 51.991.968,00.
Other considerations emerge from the analysis of the 2020 Social Report of the Federation. Particularly interesting is the strengthening of the presence of the FIdC on the main social platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, with + 269% of follower Facebook on the national team page since the beginning of 2020.
The strong presence and frequent interaction on the channels social they are part of the communication strategy of the FIdC, aimed at better understanding the needs, needs and opinions of its members and hunters in general, as well as facilitating and speeding up the dissemination of important information. The increasing use of social media ha, however, also theimportant purpose of bringing young people closer looking for them precisely where they are most present and available to listen. The positive outcome of this communication strategy is confirmed by growth of members under 30, which shows that the strategy adopted not only allows to increase the number of young new members, but also to retain those who are already registered.
Another interesting fact: il trends growth in female membership continues to be positive, also the result of the numerous initiatives dedicated to hunters and passionate dog lovers put in place by the Federcaccia National Huntress Coordination.
The results, while strongly influenced by the pandemic trend, demonstrate a extremely high potential for generating social impact on the part of the Federation, indicating it once again as a central player in the generation of socially useful value within the communities in which it operates, especially demonstrating that hunters and the hunting world as a whole are a useful resource for the whole of society.
