The new National Council is made up of 63 members and represents all twenty Italian regions to which the 107 clubs of Arci Caccia refer, representing about 30.000 members. Congress approved, unanimously, the new statute that transforms Arci Caccia into "Third sector body", that is, association with social purposes. A completely new challenge for a representation, first exclusively, hunting that looks to an ever greater relationship with the forces of civil society interested, like Arci Caccia, in the environment, fauna, inland areas, rural culture.
The desire to strengthen the contribution of Arci Caccia in the variegated world of the Arci Federation also emerges from the Congress. The Congress approved the continuation of the positive and constructive collaboration with the UNA Onlus Foundation to carry out concrete research, management and promotion projects concerning wildlife, feeding with game meat and cleaning the countryside. Congress has also approved the guidelines for collaboration with Fitav, Federparchi, Arre Protette and Atc and with local authorities and small villages in the exclusive defense of the general interests of the community looking beyond the simple relationship with the hunting world.
On the unity of the hunting world, the Congress, having taken note of the waiver of the FIDC to a united federation, he affirmed the need for coordination but also the need to look beyond the hunting world to break the isolation in which hunting is dangerously ending. President Christian Maffei he affirmed that the National Council presents an adequate number to the guarantees of representation of all the regional realities. «We leave this Congress - said Maffei - with a Numerous national council to widen the representation as much as possible but we want to ask everyone for a new commitment in bringing the requests of the territories and in formulating proposals that contribute to breaking the isolation of the hunting world».
«We want to become an organization in the third sector to affirm our role which looks to the collective good of the environment and the conservation of nature. We want an ever closer collaboration with the skeet shooting federation by making Arci Caccia a member of Fitav because I want every Arci Caccia member to be also a Fitav member with access to skeet shooting sports facilities and that everyone is aware of the sense of being part of the great Coni family. We want the relaunch of the canine like business card in society which is strategic to make society understand that hunters are the first to have a competent relationship of affection with their dog ». On the relationship with ISPRA, Maffei affirmed: "We must create a Scientific Committee with relations in the university and scientific world to which ISPRA cannot fail to recognize methodological capacity, authority and credibility".
The president also reiterated that Arci Caccia will have to "stay in Europe, where decisions about the future of hunting are made. On the unity of the hunting world, he continued, “there is no structured unity but there is not even a unity of contents. However, unity is still loudly requested by our members: the challenge will be to be able to transfer the common feeling in the actions of the managers "(Source: Arch Hunting).
