Twenty-nine votes in favor e seventeen opposites: this is the final result of the vote that led to the green light of the new Piedmont hunting law. The Regional Council approved the discussed regulatory text, a green light that came after two months of discussions. Just a few days ago the Piedmontese hunters and not only (about 4 thousand participants) demonstrated in the square in Turin to express their dissent against the law that had been missing since 2012.
Governor Sergio Chiamparino congratulated the Regional Councilor for Agriculture Giorgio Ferrero and the members of the majority. According to the president, this new regulation of hunting does not punish hunters in any way 100% respect for the environment. Ferrero, on the other hand, spoke of an innovative and balanced standard, capable of increasing the protected species and protecting the species of alpine fauna. One of the most controversial measures is the one that led to the ban on hunting on Sundays in September.
Ferrero himself also stressed that the text did not produce choices for or against hunting, but simply gave answers to current problems. The delegation of demonstrators had been received just on June 8th by Chiamparino and Ferrero for a live comparison.
