Valserra, territory and traditions. Four days of events and appointments dedicated to the rural traditions of the region.
TERNI - Four days of events, shows and tastings in the heart of Valserra, within the equipped area of Poggio Lavarino, immersed in the green of the Umbrian countryside and in total symbiosis with nature. 'Valserra, territory and traditions' returns from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 June to give space to the great rural culture of the region and to enhance its villages and its tourist and environmental excellence. Organized by Arcicaccia and Arcipesca in collaboration with Eventi Srl and Proloco di Poggio Lavarino, the event - which can count on a permanent market exhibition dedicated to sport and hobbies - presents itself at the starting line with many interesting news.
The debate In the first edition, that of 2014, the discussion was focused on the unity of the hunting world, a topic that is still relevant today. This year the theme of the debate - scheduled for Saturday 6 June at 10.30 - will be 'Management of the territory, beyond the enunciations' and will see the contributions of the three presidents of the territorial hunting areas of Umbria - Igor Cruciani, Luciano Calabresi and Leonardo Fontanella -, of the national secretary of Arcipesca Michele Cappiello and of the national president of Arcicaccia Osvaldo Veneziano. The debate will be coordinated by the regional president of Arcicaccia Emanuele Bennati.
Exhibitions The synergy that has been created with the local schools is important and will take place in the didactic falconry exhibition, accompanied by real flying shows. To these will be added the 'agility dog' activities organized by We Dogs and the working trials of truffle dogs. There will also be exhibitions of trout fishing in the torrent by the National School of Fly Fishing and those of skeet shooting and simulated hunting with the bow thanks to the contribution of the Terni City Archers Group.
Competitions The skeet shooting and current boar shooting competitions are particularly expected with the 1st Valserra Trophy which will be awarded at the end of the event. There will then be the working trials of truffle dogs with a race, Sunday 7 June, valid for the central-southern Italy championship, an interesting national exhibition of dog breeds and qualifications for the Italian working test championship of pointing dogs and by searching on released quail.
Shows Music and entertainment every evening, from 21.30 pm, with national orchestras: Thursday 4 June appointment with the 'Emanuele Fedeli' orchestra, Friday 5 with the 'Mirko Casadei Beach Band', Saturday 6 with the 'Alex and the 5th Dimension 'and grand finale, Sunday 7th, with' Pamela Group '.
Gastronomy and stands. Every day the market exhibition dedicated to sport and everything related to nature will be active, as well as the laser skeet shooting stand where everyone can test their skills. The food stands will be available to everyone, every day starting at 16.30 pm, with the best local specialties. In addition to the restaurant, open every evening from 20 onwards, this year three 'special' lunches will be organized: those of the fisherman (June 5), the hunter (June 6) and the 'Arnolfi' (Sunday 7) where it will be possible enjoy genuine and 'zero kilometer' products.

The presentation was attended, among others, by the regional vice president of Arcicaccia Giampiero Amici and the regional president of Arcipesca Claudio Vici. “This is not the usual festival or a commercial celebration - they explained -, but a market exhibition promoted by subjects who are committed to managing the environment in a positive way, safeguarding the territory and protecting the fauna. 'Valserra, Territory and Traditions' aims to support a policy of relaunching and enhancing the mountain and hilly areas, their landscapes, the villages that are often guilty forgotten but which are a real heritage for our region. The initiative is promoted by Arcicaccia and Arcipesca - said Giampiero Amici and Claudio Vici - but it is open to everyone, first of all to schools in the area, and is configured as an authentically popular event, which aims to rediscover the rural traditions within of an area of extraordinary beauty and still little known today ".
