In the "Cacciapensieri" section, the Provincial Federcaccia of Brescia addressed the issue of wild boars: “5.802 ungulates have been killed this year In Lombardy thanks to the wild boar hunting operations put in place by the Region, 700 more than last year. "We continue the work of bureaucratic simplification, involving the agricultural and hunting world and listening to the territory to contain a problem that is causing enormous damage to Lombardy agriculture and which also represents a danger for the safety of people". This was stated by the Lombard regional councilor for Agriculture, Food and Green Systems, Fabio Rolfi, regarding the proliferation of wild boars in Lombardy.
In Brescia there are 10 culled animals with control plans, 176 with selection hunting and 530 with collective hunting for a total of 716 wild boars compared to 54 declared road accidents. In this regard, in Federcaccia Brescia we are organizing a reporting service to the police regarding sightings of wild boars in unsuitable areas. Basically all those who spot a wild boar on a road, in an urban area or in a plain area they will communicate it to our provincial section and from here the notification by certified e-mail will start to the Provincial Police and the Forestry Carabinieri so that they can intervene quickly to prevent, for example, road accidents or damage to agricultural crops.
It is our intention to do all this to make it available to the authorities our network on the territory so that the strategy of interventions on the field by the same law enforcement agencies appointed by law to control wildlife is easier and faster. We believe as always that i more results can be obtained with collaboration and with traceable and certified information ".
