A must for all hunters and for those, many, who love game cuisine and the traditional and true tastes of the territory, the Sagra del Boar of Chianni, in the province of Pisa. This year the festival will take place on 5, 6, 7, 8, and 12, 13, 14 and 15 November.
And as has become tradition to open the awaited event, in collaboration with the Wild Boar Festival Association will be the local section of the Italian Federation of Hunting, which organizes for Thursday 5 November "Hunting at the table".
It is a dinner by reservation which sees the participation of Regional and Provincial Managers of the Italian Hunting Federation, among others the Provincial President of the FIdC of Pisa Marco Salvadori and the Regional Vice President Claudio Tani, in addition to the President of ATC 14 Mauro Bettini and Marco Ramanzini to the Director of the magazine “Il Cacciatore Italiano”. To do the honors will be the president of the Federcaccia section of Chianni, Paolo Fattorini.
But it is also an evening obviously dedicated to the themes of hunting passion, rich not only in excellent and tasty dishes but also in stories and anecdotes of the past linked above all to the "wild boar", the undisputed protagonist of the Chiannerina event.
The Chianni wild boar festival was born in the now distant October 1976 by the will of some people involved in cultural and sports associations with the express purpose of making the Chianni community and the peculiarities of its peasant cuisine known in the province.
A winning formula, which since then, without changing its foundations, knows how to renew itself year after year, reporting growing success and contributing significantly to keeping alive and transmitting the traditions and values of the Tuscan land, of which hunting is inseparably part, even in much of that society that is now increasingly distant from rurality.
