Beside him, in addition to his staff, strictly family-run, we find another strong heart of skeet shooting, Vincenzo Cito, former FITAV Regional Delegate and now a CAN FITAV member. He was in Racconigi in 2007, on the occasion of the first experimental shooting championship for athletes with motor disabilities, and he is still here today, always ready to help the growth of this movement.
But let us dwell a little more on the protagonists of this splendid event, for example Aniello di Mauro, 62, a native of Vietri Sul Mare and an acquired Piedmontese, a life in a wheelchair due to polio contracted at the age of 9 months. Aniello was one of the first disabled people in Italy to obtain a firearms permit for hunting purposes. Emilio Poli is 47 years old, in 2013 a motorcycle accident deprived him of the use of the left side of the body, interrupting his career in the air force. Shooting and swimming contributed to his emotional growth. Massimo Lanza (43 years old) is from Rometta Marea (Messina), he too had to reschedule his life from that damned day in 2007 when he suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee. Massimo is one of the hearts of steel we were talking about, engaged in various sports, including swimming, cycling, and, since 2014, also skeet shooting, if that's still not enough, it should be added that Massimo has led the his car from Messina to Racconigi (1.500 km for 16 hours of travel) to participate in this 8th Italian Paralympic shooting championship ... Oreste Lai is from Sestu (Cagliari), he is 43 years old and is one of those who give everything if themselves in everything they do. Since 2007 he too has been confined to a wheelchair following a motorcycle accident, but faces every day and every commitment with serenity and determination, cradling the dream of being able to wear the blue colors one day at the Paralympic Games, to use his own words “the most beautiful thing that life can give you”.
On Saturday 20 June Silvia Bruno, President of the Piedmont Paralympic Committee, attended the Racconigi TAV to bring the CIP's greetings to all participating athletes. To welcome her, in addition to all the athletes registered for the championship, there was Emanuela Croce Bonomi, head of the FITAV Paralympic project. Silvia Bruno herself gave the appointment to everyone in Turin, on 13 September, for a promotional multi-sports event in the square in the context of the celebration for Turin, the European Capital of Sport 2015.
Returning to the Paralympic championship of Racconigi, the 2015 Italian Paralympic shooting champion in the sitting category is Paolo Cirillo from Campania (103/125 + 12) who won the final for 12 to 7 on the Sardinian Oreste Lai (109/125 + 12), third place Diego Bertolo (95/125 + 12 + 11). In the Standing 1 category, Giorgio Marrozzini from Marche (119/125 + 14) won, winning the duel for gold on the Roman Raffaele Talamo (14/12 + 109) for 125 to 13. The bronze went to Santo Falanga (107/125 + 11 + 12).
The Italian champion for the Standing 2 category is the Friulian Paolo Bortolin (112/125 + 13), already champion 2014, who passed 13 to 10 in the final Christian Ciocchi (84/125 + 10), behind them Elio Spadoni (99 / 125 + 7 + 8).
Ms. Tiziana Nasi, President of FISIP, Gianfranco Porqueddu, President of CONI Piemonte, Emanuela Croce Bonomi, Head of the Paralympic Project FITAV and Marshal Enrico Bosio, commander of the Racconigi carabinieri, took part in the award ceremony. BERETTA Armi, on the direct interest of President Pietro Gusalli Beretta, close to skeet shooting and the FITAV Paralympic project, offered the winning athletes of the podiums a prize money in articles available on the Beretta Estore. Representing Beretta Armi, Christian Ciocchi, assisted by Mario Contin, rewarded the "colleagues" who got on the podium.
