Hunting in Umbria: the Region anticipates the closure for the Hare hunt to 5 December in compliance with the recent ordinance of the Regional Administrative Court of Umbria.
The Regional Council of Umbria has brought forward the closure for the hunting of the Hare species on the regional territory to 5 December on the proposal of the councilor for hunting Fernanda Cecchini; the decision adheres toOrdinance of the Regional Administrative Court of Umbria which provides precisely the advance of the closing date of the hunt for this species following the request of the environmentalists presented together with a specific appeal against the Umbrian Hunting Calendar 2012-2013.
The commissioner Cecchini explained, “The regional TAR accepted the appeal presented by the Association of victims of hunting in relation to art. 3 and art. 4 of the 2012/2013 hunting calendar, concerning respectively the hunting of the tufted duck and the opening / closing of the hare hunt ".
The councilor for hunting continued, "Today the council has taken note, given the enforceability of the TAR order, of the suspension of the hunting of the tufted duck, and has adopted a provision by which the closure of the sampling is anticipated. at the Lepre, initially set for December 16, December 5 ".
In addition, Cecchini specified, “In this way, account was also taken of the mandatory but not binding opinion expressed at the time by Ispra which suggested that the hare be stopped between the end of November and the first days of December. The hunting calendar of Umbria was the result of a long participation, of the scrupulous and careful work of the competent regional offices, in full compliance with the reference regulations, both national and European ".
Finally, the commissioner Cecchini concluded, "We are confident that this serious and qualified commitment, which has taken into account the different sensitivities of the hunting world, will eventually be fully recognized: for this reason the Regional Council has also decided to challenge the ordinance of the Tar before the Council of State ".
