Friends hunters, in a particularly dramatic period for the economy and even more so for the problems relating to the public health of citizens, some animal rights activists have decided to request a abrogative referendum against hunting. In truth, things are not quite like this: in the request published today in the official gazette, the same ask to repeal the Law 157 / 92, which as we all know is a rule that, first of all, protects wildlife and, secondly, regulates hunting in ways that, for times and species that can be hunted, are certainly among the most severe and restrictive in the entire EU. . That the law 157 is an outdated law that after almost thirty years must be changed is an absolutely indisputable question. and on which we all agree.
Obviously, however, this operation must be carried out in the manner and in due time and on the basis of the requests of the hunting world; this is clear. Above all it cannot take place on the basis of purely ideological thrusts which appear completely out of place due to the serious situation and unmotivated from a technical-scientific point of view. Finally, we must reiterate, with the utmost firmness, that the hunting associations, gathered in the Control Room, are very cohesive and proactive, albeit with the same differences that occur in the trade union world, and distances itself from the catastrophic attitude of some marginal associative members who, professing themselves as champions of the category, limit themselves to churning out completely misleading alarmist slogans.
As Libera Caccia, in close collaboration with Control room of the hunting world Italian, we will carefully monitor the developments of the situation, assuming that the animal rights activists are able to collect the necessary signatures in such a short time and in a period in which, for the increasingly serious sanitary emergency, unmotivated gatherings and movements are strictly discouraged or prohibited. Assuring you that you will all be promptly updated, I take this opportunity to greet you together with your families (Paul Sparvoli, president of ANLC).
