Arch Hunting wrote to the Commissioner for the Environment of the European Union Virginijus Sinkevicius asking for a moratorium on the withdrawal of migratory bird species suffering in those member countries where hunting is widespread, uncontrolled and subject to trade. This is the text of the letter:
"In Italy, with the responsibility of the Government, in issuing the national plan for the conservation and management of distressed migratory bird species, an administrative dispute has opened and is in progress involving the Regions, the central government and stakeholders. Aware of the strategic importance of the protection and conservation of wild species, wealth of biodiversity, we urge urgent action so that, without exceptions, all member countries, as requested of Italy, immediately comply with the European directives by imposing a "moratorium" on countries where this hunting activity is widespread, uncontrolled and traded with any consequent repercussions on migratory population.
With best regards
The National Vice President
Delegate for Legal Affairs
Avv. Giuseppe De Bartolomeo "
