In the framework of a path of building and strengthening relationships with subjects that more directly and operationally interpret the interests of protecting the landscape of the "beautiful country of Italy" the National President Christian Maffei met the President of Federparchi dr. Giampiero Sammuri. The importance of Federparchi's work was shared at the meeting on 9 August, in representing the value of protected areas for biodiversity, the green economy, the protection of the landscape and the needs of "small villages". From the presence of the Parks many municipalities draw energy, indispensable today, for the populations residing there.
The safeguarding of habits, customs, traditions of these communities by the new generations passes through the construction of the best conditions to allow them to continue and live in their villages, enhancing the "sustainable" activities that are promoted and assuring them the means of social assistance, health care and the best conditions of quality of life. The protection of biodiversity must be increasingly the subject of interrelationships, projects, joint investments with the wildlife management bodies ATC and CA. The hostility to the protected areas that it has characterized has been exhausted and left to a past corporate and instrumental contrasts, now is the time for full, sincere, operationally productive collaboration. Ideological fundamentalism is, as history shows, an evil for which man is responsible and damages all living beings.
The regulations in force regarding wildlife, while expressing and interpreting high synergies in an advanced way - also with respect to the legislation of other countries - need to be updated to make the rules functional to the changed conditions of consistency some impacting wild species. Man must manage the same aims of environmental protection, as guardian, with sustainable economies not only of the protected areas, but of all the pastoral agro-forestry with particular regard to farmers. It is necessary to better define the legislation to affirm in the country the role of the areas adjacent to the Parks that suffer in their realization, of limits also with respect to the control of some "populations".
For this it is necessary to plan the presence of the "hunter", censuses and certainty of the numbers of wildlife operators that should be identified among the hunters resident hunting in the ATCs and CAs. Prejudicial interpretations of the regulations, which in fact are a real impediment to the constitution of the contiguous areas, do harm to the management of the balance between wild species.
Common intention to be realized here and now, will be the identification of projects, the search for resources also through the recovery funds but also using current legislation to integrate sustainable activities in protected areas also with the projects of the Una Foundation. Commitment to fight, that of poaching, also with the involvement of the hunting surveillance coordinated between all environmental, hunting and rural associations under the direction and control of the Forest Police in the Regions and autonomous provinces (Source: Arch Hunting).
