ACMA (Association of Aquatic Migrant Hunters) intervened on the ban imposed by the Government on live calls after some cases of avian flu in the Netherlands and Germany. As pointed out by the association, to avoid subjective interpretations some points of the decree must be highlighted:
- Outside the zones A and B the use of live calls is currently allowed anytime and anywhere, so what is explained in the next points does not apply to areas where there is no such prohibition;
- The suspension is up to "New provision of DGs" for which there is NOT a certain date of the end of the ban;
- "The birds must remain at the place of use" therefore in the regions-provinces-municipalities where the use of gabions or other for the detention of calls on Lugo is allowed, they must NOT be moved or brought home. For greater clarity, who in the stalking has cages or gabions with live calls inside must keep them on site, or on the hunting site, but they cannot be moved or used outside the cages as single calls. In practice, since the displacement can be a possible vehicle of the virus to other birds, must be avoided in every way. As regards hunting, the decree indicates that it is permitted and it is not indicated anywhere in the document that in the presence of gabions it is prohibited.
These are precautionary measures because at the moment there have been no outbreaks in Italy. Certainly checks will be carried out so we invite you to check the documentation relating to the subjects used as references and to observe all possible precautionary measures to prevent any contact between them and other birds.
