Proudly, Beretta has decided to support 12 parathletes, some of which are recent protagonists of the Test of Lonato World Cup, and support them in achieving their sporting goals, with the unchanged professionalism and determination that has allowed them to collect 10 Olympic medals at the recent Rio 2016 Olympics. Paralympic activity, just three weeks after the historic signing of the memorandum of understanding for a research project with the University of Brescia and Brixia Accesibility Lab.
The project, sponsored by FITAV and supported, along with Pietro Beretta Arms Factory, also from Camozzi Research Center, intends to develop guidelines for the accessibility of shooting ranges in order to promote this sport at the Paralympic level and beyond. The study will concern the accessibility of the buildings and shooting ranges as well as the "organizational" accessibility, ie management of the spaces. Sport is an extremely important element in everyone's life and every person has the right to be able to practice it: facilitating access to sport for the disabled can contribute significantly to the removal of physical and social barriers that too often involve them. , with the awareness that more accessible facilities bring extended benefits to all athletes and the whole community.
“My family for years - declares the President Franco Gussalli Beretta - supports the development of skeet shooting, sharing the dream of bringing this sport to compete in the Paralympics already in Paris 2024. In addition to supporting individual athletes and developing new equipment that best meets the needs of the shooter, we believe it is fundamental, in a system optics, give our contribution to create the best places to practice skeet shooting. We believe that clay pigeon shooting has potential that no one else has Paralympic sport expresses, thanks to the performance levels of shooters that are similar to those of able-bodied athletes ”.
The athletes of the Beretta team, they lived an unforgettable day today. Not only Shooting but an exchange of sports experiences with the first edition of Diability Raid 4 × 4, the project aimed at offering people with disabilities the opportunity to deal with off-road driving. On Monday 2 October the first edition of the Disability Raid stopped off in Lonato. The Paralympic athletes Team Beretta coached the Disability Raid pilots by teaching them the basic techniques and letting them experience the thrill of “smoking” a clay pigeon launched at 120 km per hour. The roles were reversed at 19,00 pm when the Disability Raid reached the historic headquarters of the Pietro Beretta Arms Factory in Gardone Val Trompia. Inside the headquarters, the Beretta Team parathletes got behind the wheel accompanied by the Raid drivers to try their hand at a “regularity” lesson.
President Franco Gussalli Beretta concludes “Every day, we receive from Paralympic athletes an example of professionalism, dedication and passion better than any of us can be for them. I believe there is no better way than sport to break down the social barriers that too often involve the disabled. For this reason, I immediately embraced the Disability Raid project, an interesting vehicle for social inclusion which I am proud to promote ”.
