They were acquitted with full formula because the fact does not exist after three years. The protagonists of the story are two hunters, Giovanni Prati and Filippo Braga, who had been accused of killing a wild boar in a period in which the hunt was closed. The fact dates back to 31 July 2019: in the hamlet of Botto in Trivero, in the Biellese area, shots had been heard between 21 and 22 pm. A person had phoned 112 claiming that the two hunters had killed a roe deer and that they would have done so illegally, since the day before, the 30 July, the hunting period was over. The roe deer was never found.
But the next day a large boar was found in the area, shot dead. Braga and Prati were accused of killing the wild boar. Their defense lawyer, Guglielmo Ramella, who opted for a conditional shortened rite, however, managed to prove that Prati had permission to hunt, since it was part of the Alpine sector. On the morning of July 31, the man regularly posted the postcard at the hunting center and in the evening he returned home without being able to hunt any animals.
Decisive for the acquittal of the two hunters was the testimony of the former president of the CAI Alberto Berto, who confirmed before the judge Jolanda Villano that Prati could regularly hunt and that there is no law prohibiting another person, in this case Braga, to act as a companion without taking an active part in the hunt. The procedure had led to the suspension of the firearms license and al hunting ban for three years. In addition to the loss of the opportunity to hunt, the defendants also suffered moral damage, accused of poaching and ridiculed by their colleagues. Now they have finally been able to close an unpleasant chapter of their life (The Biellese).
