Enalcaccia Arezzo asks the provincial administration for extraordinary hunting interventions in derogation for the pigeon and starling species to prevent damage to agricultural production.
The Enalcaccia hunting association of Arezzo asks, with its own letter to the Provincial Administration of Arezzo, the implementation of extraordinary measures aimed at opening hunting in derogation to the Storno and Piccione species. Below is the letter from Enalcaccia:
"
Egr. President of the Province of Arezzo Roberto Vasai
Egr. Commander of the Arezzo Provincial Police Corps Dr. Gabriele Chianucci
Subject: request for provision for ordinary interventions on the transfer and on the city pigeon.
Dear President, Dear Commander,
In the meeting held at Codesta Provincia last July with the aa.vv. provincial and provincial agricultural organizations, the difficulties in authorizing the ordinary interventions on the starling and on the colombo torraiolo, for the 2014/15 hunting season, were externalized by the Secretary General Chianucci. We understand these difficulties which, as illustrated, can be traced back to a question of particular responsibility in providing for the specific authorization, in light of the fact that the Tuscany Region has not provided for the derogation on the withdrawal of the transfer and on the city dove in the Arezzo area; all of this is due to the limited damage to agricultural production caused by the species in question and the substantial culling carried out in 2013 in the Arezzo area.
We do not agree with the choice adopted by the Tuscany Region regarding the exceptions in our. territory, also because, in doing so, in addition to nullifying the work carried out seriously by all the parties involved in recent years, the Province of Arezzo is put in difficulty in foreseeing the ordinary interventions referred to in art. 37 LRT 3.94, interventions that have given concrete answers to the territory, satisfying hunters and reducing to a minimum the damage to agricultural production, caused by city starlings and pigeons.
Given that the undersigned association has activated with the Tuscany Region to revise the contents of the Regional Council resolution no. 586/14, so as to provide for the withdrawal in derogation in the Arezzo area on the species referred to in the object for the 2014 hunting season, we hereby ask this Provincial Administration to authorize the ordinary interventions referred to in art. 37 LRT 3.94 on starling and city pigeon for the same season.
Best regards,
The provincial president
Jacob Piantini
