The withdrawal of the hare will close in theSingle Atc of Brescia on Monday 15 November inclusive. As established by the supplementary calendar drawn up byBrescia Regional Territorial Office if the collection of 80% of the items surveyed in spring had not been reached, there were 3.500 and the number to be reached was 2.800 which, however, has not been reached, the collection should have ended in mid-November and it will be. Basically, at the ATC Unico, the institutional entity that manages the territory for hunting purposes, the culling of about 700 hares was reported. In summary, the hunters mark the killed hares on the regional hunting card but do not communicate the same data to the ATC and consequently, for the regional legislation, the fateful quantity of thePresent in several = 80% of the heads surveyed, the ATC is obliged to stop hunting the hare.
The mechanism to be applied has been this for some years now but there are some areas of our province that do not communicate the data causing the stop of the Single Area. The controversy is wasted, even among the hounds: some argue that it is better this way, given that valid breeders remain on the territory accustomed to the territory and all the dangers that follow, others would like to go hunting until December 8, the natural deadline for the hare to be harvested. This year then, after the first 10 days of hunting were lost, many thought that the disposition of the calendar had been exceeded, but the UTR was not of the same opinion, the hunters have not communicated the killing and the ATC will only have to remain suspend the withdrawal on November 15th.
Nor is it good for those who perform the pen hunting, whose releases were suspended by order of the Ministry of Health due to the well-known avian problem; avian which, moreover, is spreading like wildfire in Veneto and Lombardy with probable repercussions on poultry farms affected by the outbreaks. Unfortunately for these breeders there are far greater problems than a failure to launch pheasants ready to hunt. It must also be said that the ATC has managed to carry out 4 of the 6 programmed entries, introducing more quality game than last year. Surely, however, enthusiasts with pointing dogs always have the possibility to take, in addition to the sedentary feathered heads left on the territory, also the noblest migratory game such as woodcock and snipe.
We will not easily forget the 2021/2022 hunting season, not only for the suspension of hunting immediately after opening, but also for the avian and tight controls for the sheds by the officers of the hunting surveillance especially on the subject rings. And precisely because of the rings issue, the Lombard hunting associations will shortly send to councilor Fabio Rolfi a request for an official meeting during which ask for clarification on the intentions of the Lombardy Region on this burning topic. As is well known, the hunting associations are united in the request for a concrete resolution to the problem of rings that differ from their size, which is a subject of great emergency today. It is disheartening to see how hunting with live calls is the object of real persecution.
Indeed, it is not difficult to understand how the barrage of checks to which the sheds are subjected has a single Roman direction with the specific intent of spreading terror and resignation among the hunters to make them stop permanently. Hunting with the use of live calls it is legal and as long as it remains so Federcaccia together with the other hunting associations will take all kinds of legal action to defend our traditions. Certainly these initiatives would have much more weight and greater results if at our side there was the Lombardy Region. We will communicate the outcome of the meeting with Councilor Rolfi in the next Cacciapensieri (Source: Cacciapensieri-FIDC Brescia).
