The regional president of Anuu-Migratoristi Calabria, Bruno Zema, answers to the vice president of the Regional Council, the Hon. Nicolò, regarding the widespread note on hunting policies; "Hunting is not a problem, but a resource".
I read with interest the note released by the Vice President of the Regional Council, Hon. Nicolò, on "hunting policies"; it is true when he says that in the last two years the immobility of the councilor of the branch has been fatal for the Calabrian hunters, for the armories and for everything that revolves around the hunting planet and as Regional President of the ANUU-Migratory hunting association I can testify to it with fairness and honesty.
I wonder if the Hon. Nicolò is informed of everything that has happened in recent months regarding the issue of the 2011/2012 Hunting Calendar, if he is aware that this year for the first time in the history of Calabria the Regional Hunting Faunal Council had in full agreement prepared on Hunting Calendar, then literally upset without any logical reason by the Councilor for the branch. I wonder if he is informed that in protest the representatives of the hunting associations (ANUU, federcaccia, free hunting, italcaccia, enalcaccia, arcicaccia) have resigned from the CFVR.
Today hunters citizens are disappointed and embittered by this extreme pro-environmental behavior and therefore decided to take to the streets to protest against the hunting policy implemented by the Hon. Trematerra which, allow me to say it, brings the entire hunting sector to its knees; even more serious, it puts many jobs at risk.
We hunters are law-abiding, but without having to suffer discrimination and cuts in hunting, as the Hon. Nicolò. The commissioner for the branch is afraid of community sanctions, but I want to remind you that in Italy out of 130 EU infringements, 30 of these concern the environment and are all very serious, only three concern the hunts in derogation that in Calabria have never been adopted .
Councilor Trematerra is a practical example of a pro-environmentalist: in sixteen regions the quail hunt has as its opening date 18/09/2011; in fourteen regions the closing date is 30/12/2011; in Calabria, as we are at the forefront, the closing date is 10/11/2011: 50 days of hunting less than in the other Regions.
The same goes for the hare, where the opening in all Italian regions is set for 18/09/2011 and closing on 18/31 December; in Calabria incomprehensible opening on 1/10 and closing on 04/12/2011: on average one month less than in other regions, and we could continue.
We had asked in the CFVR to remove the partridge from the hunting calendar because in Calabria it does not exist or there are rare settlements: coincidentally it has been included in the hunting calendar among the huntable species.
We had asked for the Colombaccio for two days in pre-opening: it was denied to us; we asked for the same game with opening on 19/9 as in other regions, well, as a gift, they have set the opening on 01/10/2011.
Contrary to what happens in some Italian regions, Calabria does not have the opportunity to hunt some species in "derogation", in particular starling and finch and as happens in other regions, it does not benefit from migratory game in October and November five hunting days out of five, not to mention the reduction in the number of animals that can be killed and the temporary posting in January for the turdidae.
We are tired of this situation and of other things, dear friend Nicolò: it is the first time that we Hunting Associations are unable to dialogue with the Councilor for the branch and certainly this is not positive; in two years the CFVR has been convened only twice. It seems that the calendar issued for the current hunting season has been specifically designed to sanction hunters and cause the withdrawal of numerous hunting licenses; I call it "the worst hunting calendar of all time".
Unfortunately, at this point, very little remains to be done: there are many hunters who are asking for the creation of a unitary movement that is able to undermine and counter this anti-hunt sentiment of the councilor in the on branch. Earthquake.
In Calabria we are destined to suffer for everything, but let us console ourselves: we are left with hope and prayer for a better future.
