THETerritorial hunting area of Pescara announced the departure of two courses, one for the qualification to specialist hunting and woodcock monitoring and another for the qualification for the census and collection of the rock partridge. The first course has as its objective the training and qualification of specialized hunters, able to collect woodcocks throughout Italy. Additionally, there will be a chance for participants to become permanent monitors of the species, too outside the hunting season.
These specialized and selected hunters will be exploited by the various agencies for designated areas. The second course, on the other hand, will serve to train and qualify other hunters, making the removal of the rock partridge sustainable. Also in this case the activity will be valid outside the hunting period: the participants will become wildlife technicians able to develop adequate withdrawal and conservation plans, to be applied after receiving the favorable opinion of ISPRA.
The lessons for the woodcock will last 15 hours, on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February, while those for the rock partridge will last 10 hours (Saturday 10 March). Do not forget the five hours dedicated to hunting technique and dog lovers (Sunday 11 March) and the exams on Sunday 11 March (in the afternoon). For admission to the final exam it will be necessary to have attended at least 80% of the scheduled hours.
