The next 22 September will be a very important date for gastronomic traditions of Veneto. The first of three weekends will begin in the name of flavor, with the climax being represented by the sixty-first edition of the Giant Spit of Pieve di Soligo (province of Treviso). The historic village is located in the hills of Prosecco Superiore and this appointment will be held from the first Sunday in October. It is not an edition among many, but we will try to enter the Guinness World Record using over 3 thousand quail for a total of 360 kilos of meat.
In this way Pieve di Soligo would record a real record. We are talking about the possibility of tasting roasted poultry in the "speo", dish accompanied by the excellent white polenta. In addition to the largest spit in the world, there will be music, theme nights, book presentations and cooking lessons.
The spit in the square also manages to attract enthusiasts from all over Italy and also from abroad every year, since it is a one of a kind gastronomic event. The Pro Loco is preparing the event in detail and therefore we just have to wait for the big moment. The other two weekends will be dedicated to Prosecco, mushrooms and cheeses.
