As announced byTerritorial Hunting Area of Livorno, there will be two days dedicated to censuses of mouflons inIsland of Capraia. This is the island that is part of the Tuscan Archipelago, to be precise between Corsica and the Island of Elba (64 kilometers from the Tuscan municipality). The 12 and May 13 2018 we will proceed with this important activity, preparatory to the drafting of the abatement plans to be authorized in the coming months.
Since there are still a few days left, there is the possibility to contact the technician Daniela Giustini to get more information about it. Last year the Management Committee of the same ATC had authorized the mouflon hunting by selection from 1st October to 15th March. The starting date was chosen after realizing that in August and September the situation would be too insecure due to the massive presence of tourists on the island itself.
After the censuses in May, you will be able to get an idea of the new plans, for the moment you can take a cue from what happened in the five months between 2017 and 2018. Selection hunting for mouflons was guaranteed five days a week, limiting the culls to adult males, young males (binelli), adult females, thin and small.
