Yesterday, Wednesday 30 January 2019, the Regional Administrative Court of Sardinia has definitively canceled the hunting calendar relating to the 2018-2019 season in the part where it provided for the hare and partridge hunting. The judges therefore upheld the appeal of the LAC, LAV, WWF, LIPU, ENPA and the Legal Intervention Group. The reasons of the first and second degree have been confirmed.
In fact, according to the sentence, ISPRA explained how two days of hunting are not enough for a modulation of the levy in relation to local consistencies. For the Institute, the plan should be based on population dynamics and the results obtained from monitoring. In practice, the Region of Sardinia has not demonstrated the existence of ideal conditions for not respecting the lines of the institution.
For the second consecutive year (in 2018 the sentence came more or less in this same period) the hunting of the Sardinian hare and the Sardinian partridge must be forgotten, a real joke for all island hunters. Among other things, the Region will now have to pay 2 thousand euros as a sentence for the acceptance of the animal rights appeal: these are the court costs, as well as legal accessories for the return of the unified contribution.
