The decree of the Ministry of the Environment
“On the evening of Tuesday 10 October, the Minister of the Environment Pichetto Fratin finally signed the ministerial decree for the reduction of the territory of Portofino National Park according to the proposal put forward by the Liguria Region, i.e. with a perimeter limited to the three founding municipalities of the 1935 regional park (Portofino, Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure). In this way, approximately 4000 hectares are freed from an absurd restriction of the National Park.
The reduction of the park
I communicate this with satisfaction, having followed the whole issue, at times even exhausting, for the reduction of the Park in every phase. I thank the Minister for the availability demonstrated and confirmed some time ago in a response in the Chamber to a question I presented to the Chamber of Deputies. Now you just need to wait a few days for publication in the Official Journal.
Sharing of the territory
It is an important result because I have always believed that parks can only work if there is sharing of the territory. When the municipalities do not agree on the establishment of a park, that park is unlikely to work, because a beautiful and environmentally valuable territory has remained so since there was the intervention of man who confirmed it." This was declared by Lega deputy Francesco Bruzzone.
