A real acceleration: the decision of the Veneto region to update and revise the regulation for the control of wild boars and the operating protocol within the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills. The commissioner for hunting Joseph Pan and that to the Territory and Parks, Cristiano Corazzari, have presented a resolution to accelerate the fight against the proliferation of ungulates.
The park authority will obviously be involved and the update must take place within thirty days following the publication of the document. Corazzari explained how it is necessary a change of pace, making containment and eradication of the wild even more incisive. The Veneto park authority will have to review the operational tools, organizing new qualification courses for selecontrollers intended for Venetian hunters who meet the legal requirements.
Priorities will be assigned to who resides in the 15 municipalities that are part of the park, to residents in the province of Padua and to residents in other Venetian provinces (in this strict order). The commissioner also recalled the persistence of damage caused by wild boars to agricultural crops and the environment, without forgetting the dangers to road safety. The new selecontrollers should allow a greater number of culls and the reorganization of trap management.
