From 15 September 18 Italian regions will kick off the pre-opening of the hunt, pending the official hunting season, scheduled from 30 September to XNUMX January.
The opening of the hunting season is always a long awaited moment for those who have a passion for hunting. Like every year, the reopening of hunting coincides with many controversies from both animal welfare associations and hunters. On the one hand the animal rights activists with their numerous appeals aim to delay or even stop, as in the case of Campania, the hunting season, on the other hand the hunters who see their freedoms in the exercise of hunting activity.
This year the pre-openings are scheduled, on different days starting from the first of September, in Valle D'Aosta, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia, together with all the provinces of Emilia Romagna, a large part of the Tuscan ones and the Lombard province of Brescia. Therefore, Trentino Alto Adige, Piedmont, Liguria, Molise and Campania are excluded, the latter due to the sentence of the TAR which in recent days blocked the pre-opening of the hunt, accepting the appeal presented by the WWF. The collection concerns a total of 12 species of birds and 5 of mammals, distributed throughout the country with substantial differences depending on the region. The birds that can be hunted in pre-opening are the teal, the snipe, the wood pigeon, the hooded crow, the black crow, the magpie, the jay, the mallard, the gargane, the blackbird, the quail and the turtledove. Mammals are chamois, roe deer, wild boar, wild rabbit and fox.
On the occasion of the reopening of the hunting season, the Associazione Hunting Caccia Passione wants to spread a message of good wishes to all hunters, recalling the safety rules, in particular regarding the use and handling of weapons.
Also this year Caccia Passione recommends prudence, a fundamental element for the safety of hunters and which saves lives. Caccia Passione recommends shooting when you are really sure that the area in which you are hunting is safe, especially when hunting animal species such as wild boar, a type of hunting that involves the collaboration of multiple hunters and dogs. In addition, wear jackets with flashy colors in order to be easily visible even and especially at long distances, so as not to become a target that moves in the bush. Also on the handling of weapons, we remind you that it is a fundamental prerequisite for a hunting trip in absolute safety. For example, as many of our readers know, it is essential to walk with the shotgun unloaded or the shotgun / over-and-under open when setting out to reach the hunter's hunting area. There is no need to walk with loaded weapons, as an accidental fall could trigger a shot. Finally, going hunting with long-time hunters can ensure both a profitable hunt from the point of view of the conquered prey, and greater safety thanks to the experience of those who have been hunting for a long time.
In conclusion, Caccia Passione wishes all hunters an intense and exciting hunting season in the hope that a healthy and correct exercise of the hunting activity demonstrates that hunters are the first defenders of the environment and nature. In addition, Caccia Passione makes a big good luck to all our readers, remembering caution, respect for the environment and above all that you have to have fun!
