Rio De Janeiro, 7 August 2016 - A start with a bang for the Beretta Team athletes. After the 75 targets of the first discipline competing in Rio, the Trap Women, 4 athletes have earned a pass for the semi-final. Laetischa Scanlan (AUS) with 70 centers out of 75, Jessica Rossi (ITA) with 69, Natalie Rooney (NZL) with 68 and Catherine Skinner (AUS) with 67. A dominance marked since the first heats in which all the athletes competing have sold his skin dearly to earn a major finale on their way to Olympus. But if for the darling of the house, Jessica Rossi, the amazing race ended, in the semi-final, it was different for Rooney and Skinner who, crumbling one target after another, paved the way for the final.
An all-Beretta final where, in the presence of the President, Franco Gussalli Beretta, the two shooters demonstrated their sporting qualities.
Catherine Skinner had the upper hand, able to close the final with 12 targets against the 11 centers of Natalie Rooney.
The President thus commented on the race: “It was great to live this final. As an Italian I am sorry for Jessica as for all our other shooters who arrived here with so many expectations and with a great deal of work behind them, like the two Perilli sisters from San Marino.
To them my greatest gratitude and gratitude. I am very happy for the first two Olympic medals, the first won by the DT11, which thus becomes our umpteenth shotgun to accompany an athlete on the top step of the podium. "
Tomorrow we continue with the last 50 targets and the Men's Trap Final with our eyes on Johnny Pellielo (ITA - 73 out of 75), Josip Glasnovic (CRO - 72 out of 75) and Iavuz Ilnam.
