Three weeks ago the Lombardy Regional Administrative Court rejected the appeal of the LAC (Hunt Abolition League), an association that had requested the suspension of the hunting of the lark. For the final sentence of the judges we will have to wait a few more months, since it has been postponed until the next one 19th April, but a "precautionary" decision was nevertheless taken.
In fact, the TAR has decided to reduce the maximum limit of items that can be withdrawn: we are talking about no more than 10 larks that can be cut down every day, while the total rises to 50 as regards the annual limit. The novelty concerns both hunting from fixed stalking and other forms of hunting. In addition, the measure will be in effect immediately.
Il 2016-2017 hunting calendar of Lombardy it had been drafted differently. The maximum limit of the game bag, in fact, spoke of 80 larks a year as regards the fixed positions (hunting lodges), down to 50 for the other forms of hunting. Now there are no distinctions on the type of withdrawal and all Lombard hunters will have to respect the new decision, with the risk that in April - at the end of the season - the sentence will speak of higher daily and annual limits.
I ask myself and I say: what was the use of resorting to the TAR, with the courts postponing the decision to April 19, 2017, "hunting is closed and the hunting season is now over" ???
As a hunter I'm sorry to say but in essence the LAC won !!!
For the appeal made by the Federcaccia Bresciana, this is the classic Pyrrhic victory !!!
When we modify 157/92 so that no one and I mean no one, will no longer be able to contact the TAR ???
