La Confederation of Tuscan Hunters centered its latest official note on a reply to theNational Free Hunting Association. Here is the text of the press release: “It is not our habit to reply or reply to the press releases that often stir up the debate, we do not do it for a matter of style but also and above all, to avoid an indecent spectacle to those who look at us from outside. Whoever wants to throw any argument into a fight, know that he is committing a devilish and feral mistake for hunting providing free assists to our opponents and gigantic alibis for politics. Unfortunately and despite this necessary premise, we cannot remain silent after reading two communicated by ANLC particularly belligerent as they are devoid of any foundation. You can't even help but notice the "Overturned somersaults" of a hunting association that today, perhaps stimulated by the electoral campaign and by the ambitions of some managers, covers the face of movement and struggle, after having for months and months, organized public initiatives in support of the Tuscany Region and the Councilorship, working in full harmony with regional offices.
Discover today that the most aligned defenders and supporters of the Palace have become the main protesters and fomenters of the square, is perhaps the real news of the day. We could assert that Free Hunting finally comes out of the equivocation and descends on the positions that the Confederation has always expressed. Positions manifested in unsuspecting times, when it was not too fashionable to express critical judgments on the Department and the offices, regarding an experience of regional government of hunting which will make this legislature remembered certainly not as the most virtuous and far-sighted in history. On the Objective Law the firm and argued positions of the CCT have already been identified from the presentation. Dozens of public assemblies were held on the territory, with boar hunting teams, district leaders, local administrators and the interested categories.
The CCT has produced two analysis and proposal documents, formally deposited for the attention of President Rossi and the Council Commission and all the groups that sit in the Regional Council. Positions, proposals and evaluations presented following a long process of participation, which began with the first meeting held in Grosseto three years ago, in the presence of over five hundred hunters, and developed in the Regional Conference of the CCT held in Florence on February 2, 2018 at Villa Viviani. Today, in the light of the experience and above all in the face of the data and results that in three years of application of this "Special false law" they handed us over, our negative judgment remains unchanged. There was no need for a special law on ungulates; it would have been enough to apply the existing regulatory framework, but above all it was and remains unacceptable to have introduced, with a political and non-technical choice, the logic of conflict between forms of hunting and hunters.
Having said this and acknowledging that others have belatedly converted to this approach and assessment of the facts, we also want to clarify and inform the most distracted on the reasons underlying the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding; protocol promoted by the Region, and addressed to Associations and ATCs on hunting issues. The discussion table recently set up by President Rossi was with us and not only with us, requested on several occasions to re-establish a consolidated practice that of consultation and preliminary confrontation on all matters relating to hunting. This was necessary precisely to avoid the continuation of a strategy that in recent months has led the Region to approve acts, resolutions and regulations, in the absence of any prior discussion with stakeholders. The Objective Law itself is the daughter of this political culture whose negative results, are now there for all to see. Having signed the pact of mutual consultation and comparison with the Region does not mean, as obvious, consenting or giving blank proxies on the measures that the table will be called upon to deal with!
Being at the discussion tables is a political duty for a large representative organization, as it is for the ATCs present with their coordination, for agricultural associations like us. signatories of the Protocol, and also for the other hunting associations that have signed it. A falsehood is therefore asserted when it is said that we have signed an agreement for the extension of the Objective Law as it is! An exploitation without foundation, as the law in question will have to undergo a radical revision, with the observations presented at the time. A theme that arises moreover within a very important series of topics that characterize the protocol, vital for the future of hunting in Tuscany. Having said that, it is not up to us to judge the behavior of Libera Caccia which has legitimately decided to get out of the confrontation table. We acknowledge this, as we acknowledge that perhaps the pact that unnaturally binds it to other hunting associations has also been broken. The CCT by proxy of its Confederate Associations will carry on its battle; if his proposals are not accepted, he will not hesitate to continue it "outside", together with the thousands of hunters which represents. The hope remains that at least for once we will stop unleashing a storm in the glass of water and work together in the interest of the world of hunting and hunters ”.
