We have stated this on several occasions; the unitary project is the driving force that can restore a positive image to hunting in society. With the birth of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters A new enthusiasm has been generated, many young people have approached, in many cases remained in the shadows, and the wind of convinced participation is being breathed for the construction of a new, inclusive, dynamic and communicative representative subject. The openness to society to make hunters known and appreciated as bearers not only of a tradition but also of culture and knowledge, have been and remain some of the fundamental references at the basis of the Confederation's activity.
The strength, sometimes overwhelming, comes from the territory, from the volunteers who generously, every day, develop many and beautiful initiatives. We also confess the difficulty in choosing and mentioning some so as not to do wrong to others of equal importance. We apologize in advance, therefore, if for reasons of space and time, we limit ourselves to mentioning only the two examples of the week that we consider emblematic, the result of constant work that develops every day in our Tuscany, in the territories and under the many bell towers that make this wonderful region and its people unique. Solidarity and culture are the ingredients fielded in Capannoli (PI) and Bagno di Gavorrano (GR).
“Knowing the Fauna” is the title of a praiseworthy initiative that the CCT has developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Capannoli, thanks to the commitment of the Councilor Federico Mangino and the “G.Carducci” primary school. The third class and their respective teachers took part in a lesson focused on wildlife and the main cognitive elements on which to base a relationship that is not spoiled either by clichés or by a Disney vision of nature. With the resources of the hunters and with the serious technical - scientific support of the CCT and the Cedaf Training Agency it was possible to transmit an extremely important message for the new generations. "The beauty of our commitment - said Franco Rinaldi local manager of ARCT - is to discover the curiosity of children through their eyes and how they immediately understand how nature and the wild species that inhabit our countryside represent a everyone's good to manage and safeguard. "
Our collaborator Ester Navarra gave a lesson starting from large carnivores, addressing specific issues on wolves, foxes, roe deer etc., up to wildlife management. The surprised eyes of the children, lost in the footsteps of the Wolf and the Porcupine, explain how to recognize the difference between a Deer and a Fallow Deer, which they had confused, the attention with which the boys followed the succession of the presentation, fills us the heart making us enthusiastic. Bringing the little ones who will be our future closer to the knowledge of the local fauna makes us proud, preparing us for a field experience in the Restocking and Capture Area scheduled for next Friday 24 May. We are hopeful, adds Rinaldi, that what they have learned today can make them grow aware of their future, hoping that projects like this can become organic to teaching like other projects.
In front of over 400 children from the schools of Gavorrano (GR) and Scarlino (GR), a delegation from the CCT Grossetana, made up of the indefatigable Piero Bettaccini, Maurizio Capitini, Alessandro Salvestroni and Daniele Laurenti, presented himself with a concrete gesture. We are here - said Bettaccini - because with the proceeds obtained from our initiatives this year and from others now in the pipeline, we have decided to donate a defibrillator to the Comprehensive Institute. The defibrillator will be installed inside the Gavorrano school gym. Here, hunters are not limited only to this! They are in fact always at the forefront alongside young people and students, organizing educational outings in the area alternating with classroom lessons held by experts and wildlife technicians. In this pearl of the Maremma landscape today hunting is a pulsating and active part of a community. Hunting speaks to young people and knows how to be among the people. So do you! Thanks to everyone for their commitment and example. We go ahead with our heads held high, proud of our history, legitimately feeling part of the future.
