La Control room composed of recognized hunting associations (Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, AnuuMigratoristi, Arci Caccia, National Free Hunting Association, Italcaccia, Ente Produttori Game) and the National Hunting and Nature Committee hopes for a reform of the hunting law) to overcome the problems that have plagued the season still underway in Tuscany. The Control Room examined the problem that arose in the aftermath of the Council of State Ordinance on Tuscan Hunting Calendar which led to the early closure of hunting for Woodcock, Wood Pigeon, Blackbird, Corvidae and Anatidae species.
Having found that the attempts made by the Region to resolve the issue were in vain, the Control Room considered it necessary an amendment of law 157 of 1992 that better explains the scope of article 18, paragraph 2, of the law, clarifying that only the species subject to pre-opening are to be subtracted from actual days in which the pre-opening withdrawal was made.
This is a principle of common sense, which could be considered implicit in the current legislation and which, having been disregarded by the Council of State, has led to significant damage to Tuscan hunters, also denounced by some local political forces. The components of the Control Room believe that an urgent and decisive intervention in this sense is necessary, taking action in the appropriate places so that it is carried out, so as to shelter, at least in the next few seasons, from similar unjustified situations.
