Following the meeting held at the Department of The Tuscan Regional Authority on 10 April, a phase of consultation and discussion on the main contents of the Tuscan Regional Hunting Calendar 2019-2020. The Confederation of Tuscan Hunters has expressed some evaluations on the text. Particularly, the CCT proposed pre-opening on 1 and 8 September as regards turtle doves, starlings and corvids, the same desirable dates for inserting collared turtle doves and pigeons.
The association would like a period of wood pigeon hunting from the third Sunday of September until January 31, as proposed by the Region, in order to make the sampling compatible with the biology of the population. There is no shortage of references to wild boar hunting and hunting in the suitable areas: the idea is to keep the usual setting, i.e. opening on November 1st and closing on January 31st, with the possibility of differentiated openings for the various provinces. For the lark, then, it was asked to adopt differentiated game bags for specialist hunters and occasional ones (20 head per day and 100 per year for specialists).
Another critical issue on which to express an orientation concerns the collection of the Woodcock in the light of what has been verified in the past hunting season following the pronouncement of the Council of State and subsequently reaffirmed by the TAR Toscano. Finally, the CCT referred to the application "TosCaccia" and to the digital hunting card in place of the paper one: the association understands the importance of novelty, but the choice cannot be imposed as there would be a increase in costs (only compatible smartphones should be used), not to mention the inconvenience for those who are not used to using technology.
