As disclosed by the LAV (Anti-Vivisection League), the Regional Administrative Court of Toscana expressed its opinion on the appeal presented by the same association together with ENPA, LAC and WWF with regard to the three-year plan for the control of wild boar, more precisely the part of the text dedicated to the hunted. This levy was in fact suspended by the judges: the plan was developed by the Tuscany Region pursuant to Law 10 of 2016, the so-called Objective Law that makes you talk so much. According to the TAR, the contents of the document are partly illegitimate.
In particular, the lack of effectiveness of ecological methods has not been demonstrated, the condition underlying the killing of ungulates. Furthermore, there would be no motivation for the deviation of the opinion of theISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) regarding the new distribution of wild animals on the territory.
Here is how animal and environmental associations commented on the decision: "Hunting by the hunt method is a particularly cruel system towards animals and has a strong impact on the environment, which is why we are happy that the TAR of Florence has suspended it, now we await the hearing on the merits, the regional law for the management of ungulates is a failure, it has not achieved its objectives fixed, it was just an opportunity to allow even more fun to hunters, for this reason we ask that it be referred to the Constitutional Court ”.
