Il black grouse will be the undisputed protagonist of the opening of the 2016 season of Pro Natura Lucomagno Center, which is based in Blenio, in the Canton of Ticino. In fact, it will start on Friday 6 May with one evening conference dedicated to the situation of the animal in this part of Switzerland. The event was proposed in collaboration with Ficedula, a Swiss company that promotes and supports bird research.
The speaker, on the other hand, will be Niklaus Zbinden, an expert in grouse and called to expose the habits of the pheasant in recent times: the start of the debate is scheduled at 20 pm in the conference room of the Center, in Acquacalda. The next day, Saturday 7 May, an excursion into the natural environment of black grouse is planned. In particular, it will be possible to observe, with a little luck of course, the animals and the parade of males in love, an appointment that has been designed precisely to arouse the greatest possible interest in Ticino hunters.
Also in this case Ficedula collaborated in the organization of the event. The guides will be the aforementioned Zbinden and the president of Ficedula, Robert Lardelli: it will start at 4 in the morning and the excursion will last until 9:30. There are no limits as regards the maximum and minimum age of the participants, so everyone will be welcome, as long as you do not exceed the number of 25 people. In the event of bad weather, however, the activity could also be modified or canceled.
