The last weekend was haunted to say the least GenoVa as regards thewild boar emergency. In addition to a culled ungulate in the area of Pegli and another lost at sea, a third wild was captured in the Corso Italia area in Lido baths. As announced by the local section of theENPA (National Animal Protection Body), the animal was then transported to the Wild Animal Recovery Center (CRAS) of the same association, together with two other wild boars.
However, the wild boar caught on the Lido, an adult female, has torn the net and is fled with the other two ungulates. However, ENPA does not intend to take responsibility for what happened. According to the institution, in fact, one cannot speak of a self-liberation, since this is not the way to free animals in the wild. In short, animal rights activists are aware that they are not the solution to the problem.
Furthermore, an appeal was made to politicians, jurists and ordinary citizens: ENPA would like a new interpretation of the Law 221 of 2015 ("Environmental provisions to promote green economy measures and to limit the excessive use of natural resources"). In particular, the part that prohibits them should be changed immissions of wild boars in nature, given that we should talk more about relocation of animals that are already in the wild.
