Important result for the Pisan cinofilia at the twelfth Coppa Italia with following dogs on fox, which took place in the province of Salerno on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January. In the couples category, the team made up of Luca Lazzeri, Claudio Tani (managers of the Pisan Federcaccia) and Maurizio Sollazzi (Fucecchio) presented in the race two pairs of dogs followed, led by Maurizio Sollazzi and Luca Lazzeri, winning the second and fourth position respectively.
A result that went far beyond expectations, considering that the trio was participating in a competition for the first time and had to contend for the result to ten very aggressive and experienced teams, coming from the regions with the strongest tradition for fox hunting. The first place on the podium (conquered by the Crotone team) was missed by a whisker by our competitors only because of the non-killing of the wild, while the work done by the pair of dogs was clearly judged the best and awarded with the qualification of "Excellent". The pack that won 4th place also performed very well; unfortunately, however, the fox headed for an intensely busy road and it was necessary to block the dogs, not completing the test.
For this circumstance, the race judge, during the awards ceremony, spent words of praise for the conductor Luca Lazzeri, both for the conduct of dogs in general and for having privileged them. safety with respect to the result. “We dedicate this result to the memory of a great friend and fox hunting teacher, Libero Lupetti known as Il Folena”, declared the three competitors. Important result also in the wetsuit category, where Luca Bernardeschi (president of the Federcaccia di Villamagna) together with Tanzini Fabio, Baroncini Moreno, D'Auria Antonio, won third place. Again, the result could have been even better: a hound of the group, still very young, was unable to climb a steep ridge, thus breaking away from the pack and causing it to be penalized.
