The appeal to the hon. Armorers
The Veneto regional associations Federcaccia, Liberacaccia, ANUUM Migratoristi, Enalcaccia, Italcaccia, Arcicaccia, Cacciatori Italiani and CPA have turned to the Assessor for the territory, culture, safety, migratory flows, hunting and fishing of the Veneto Region Cristiano Corazzari regarding the TAR ruling of Veneto no. 01124/2022 and its consequences on the performance of the hunting season 2022/2023. "As is now customary - write the Venetian AAVVs -, every year, together with the approval of the regional hunting calendar, in Veneto as in any other Italian region, there is always an appeal by the competent TAR, appealed by animal rights and anti-hunting associations , strengthened by the opinion of ISPRA, used continuously in the context of appeals as an element of support for the disputes advanced.
Challenge of the calendar
Veneto's 2022/2023 calendar is no exception. Following the usual appeal before the TAR by the League for the Abolition of Hunting (LAC), the Veneto TAR upheld the appeal of the proponents, involving, among other things, the annulment of the provisions relating to hunting in Cesena, redwing and ducks”. "As you well know - continues the note - the start of the hunting seasons is now undermined every year by the continuous challenges of the hunting calendars at the TAR which, more often than not - as highlighted in the case in question - accept the reasons for the appeals, creating quite a few problems for the start and running of the hunting season.
A paralyzed hunting season
On this point it is in fact necessary to point out that hunting entails preparation and execution costs, both operational and administrative, for the operators of the hunting sector, costs which have been - this year as in previous years - borne in good faith by part of the hunters who however found themselves with a hunting season substantially paralyzed by the provision of the TAR. The present therefore - conclude the signatories - to ask you what initiatives you intend to take to protect the legitimate expectations of hunters in the Veneto region, if necessary also through a possible new resolution" (source: FIDC).
