As reported by the regional President of Federcaccia Puglia, lawyer Giovanni Ciccarese, last Saturday 17 July in Lecce, in Piazza S. Oronzo, a delegation of Federcacciatori led by Giuseppe Del Cuore and coordinated by the same Avv. Ciccarese, requested the police to ascertain the legally valid conditions, ie the presence of an authenticator, for the gazebo set up for the collection of signatures on the referendum against hunting. The result was a heated quarrel with the animal rights activists who requested the intervention of the Digos.
Police arrived, he requested documents from the hunters where the lawyer Ciccarese explained to the inspector who intervened that the signatures could not be authenticated by a lawyer present at the tables, indicating the reference rules to the police. Colonel Mossuto also intervened, collaborator of the Provincial Section Federcaccia of Lecce, who in turn illustrated the reference rules to the Police Inspector.
At this point, the Director of Digos did not interrupt the collection of signatures, but invited them to formally proceed with their assessment. Therefore, next week the Presidency of Federcaccia Puglia will present formal exhibited at Digos requesting the seizure of the signatures collected for their invalidation (Source: Hunting Federation).
