And therefore, despite everything, today for many Tuscan hunters, the adventure of a new hunting season has begun. There pre-opening you know, it is little more than a taste of what will be the real "general opening" of next September 20. This year, however, we experienced a truly unprecedented page for what happened on the eve of an appointment now consolidated over the years. The appeals presented by the animal welfare associations and the unusual speed of the TAR in decreeing the suspension on the resolution of last August 25, superseded by a subsequent act of the Regional Council on August 31, have generated confusion and despair among hunters.
The media disinformation and the false news spread yesterday by some authoritative sources of information that gave the pre-opening as suspended again following a second sentence of the Tuscan TAR kept everyone in suspense until late in the evening. The press release issued late yesterday by the CCT (in the almost total silence of the remaining Tuscan hunting world) finally clarified the issue and put an end to a distressing situation that risked generating panic among hunters and a lack of legal certainty. Today, therefore, we return to hunting but the problems remain and the path remains bumpy. The stages of the discussion at the TAR on the appeal to the Hunting Calendar 2020/21 and even the judgments on the same pre-opening remain obstacles that are not easy to overcome.
Our commitment, including defense in the courts, represents the tangible sign of a necessary battle to be fought to prevent our passion from becoming a victim of the concentric attacks of the animal rights world and not only. Events such as those we have experienced in the last few days and hours, however, should make the whole hunting world reflect on the need to change pace. We note with bitterness that the few intellectual and organizational energies are spent almost exclusively by some to feed a climate of brawl and hateful controversy entirely internal to the hunting world. Distinction and controversy that often end up favoring our opponents and to provide them with arguments to use as weapons against our world. The CCT will never follow this deadly drift into which some, by now, have been sucked up.
The hunters have understood this even before the management groups and their confidence and esteem, which has also arrived in these last hectic hours, is worth more than any other encouragement in moving forward. Unity is not a slogan but a necessity, as long as it materializes on specific programs, ideas and commitments. The CCT was born with this goal. Today, more than ever, the only credible path and experience appears. To talk about these and other topics, the CCT is continuing to carry out a substantial program of meetings and assemblies throughout Tuscany. We take this opportunity to highlight the two initiatives that are closest in time. Tonight a San Casciano Val di Pesa and next 7 September in Empoli. We are waiting for you to discuss but also to learn information that will help to better understand the real problems and the real perspectives that we have before us.
