Hunting in Veneto: on the issue of hunting in derogation, the president Garbujo of Italcaccia Veneto writes to the president of the Region Luca Zaia.
The president of Italcaccia Veneto, Gianni Garbujo, writes to the President of the Veneto Region on the question of hunting in derogation for the 2012-2013 hunting season currently underway, making some clarifications.
The letter from Italcaccia reads:
"Dear President,
the bewilderment, the great disappointment and bitterness is the feeling that today agitates miles and miles of hunters in the Veneto, caused by the umpteenth postponement by the IV commission to advise that it did not want to take responsibility for a legitimate measure in application of the regime in derogation to some species of migratory birds that are part of the traditional Venetian hunts.
Washing one's hands as it was done, without assuming any responsibility for the sole fear put in place by the MEP IDV Zanoni, of sanctions against the Italian state by the European community, unfortunately demonstrates the failure to keep faith with the commitments made for the protection and the defense of the Venetian hunting world and the safeguarding of uses, customs and traditions.
As President Italcaccia del Veneto, I ask you to take action and intervene, not only on this provision, but on the work that must immediately be produced for the next hunting season, urgently approving a strong, clear and untouchable regional law that guarantees all hunters of the Veneto application of the exemption regime for the years to come.
This measure will serve to block the large anti-hunt lobby supported in Europe by some personalities and to support an important activity forgotten by the Italian state, which is doing everything except defending local realities.
We must prevent this total globalization from erasing our history as a Venetian people in the near future and at the same time an activity that has historical roots in our people, therefore an indispensable part in the management of fauna and the environment and an extremely important economic resource for thousands and thousands of families. Venetian.
We will remember the current season for Venetian hunting as the worst of all times, characterized exclusively by appeals on appeals, also due to the poor technical preparation of the experts. We look forward to a great turning point for the Venetian hunting world in the near future, preventing the repetition of these disconcerting attitudes.
We thank you for the attention you have dedicated to us and are sure of your fruitful and prompt intervention in this regard, we send you our most cordial and heartfelt greetings ".
The Regional President
Gianni Garbujo
