As happened also in 2014 and 2015, this year the project will continue self-production of pheasant by 'sTerritorial area of Pistoia hunting. The newspaper The Tyrrhenian Sea reported the words of Patrick Zipoli, representative of the Tuscan ATC. According to reports on the initiative, the experience of the last two years has served a lot, given that the project of self-production of the hare recorded some excellent results.
Consequently, the Sector has decided to undertake a path that will have as its objective the local production of pheasants. Wanting to be even more precise, small farms will be exploited (dei "Micro-farms", as you can read in the newspaper), completely amateur and kept by volunteer hunters from Pistoia.
The project is determined to provide locally produced animals as soon as possible: in this way they will come the main problems of acclimatization in nature are limited to a minimum which are caused by industrial farming practices. Future scenarios are already being considered. In particular, better could be ensured in the coming years natural reproduction of fowl, without forgetting the possible reduction in the quota of purchased animals. The Tyrrhenian has referred to the municipality of Ponte Buggianese, a place that made headlines last Easter Monday for a curious and much appreciated event, namely the "Hunter's snack".
