The Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria hosted two days of true Italian dog lovers, the South Test of Excellence which took place in the Zac "Piani del prete", valid for the qualification for the selection of World Championships 2019. On this occasion, Federcaccia Calabria, in collaboration with the Provincial Section of Reggio Calabria, gathering the common feeling of the Calabrian managers and hunters, decided to organize the competition in the memory of Gennaro Giuffrè, unforgotten regional President and appreciated national leader, but above all a fraternal friend of many, who died prematurely. In the test they participated 47 competitors, whose exit order was decided by a draw in the presence of the federal delegate Tancredi Labate.
The operational secretariat led by Paolo Barbera has shown, as always, competence, courtesy and timeliness in providing information, and the organizing committee has all his uncommon experience for the success of the event. The experts carried out the assigned tasks with commitment and the competition and game fields did not disappoint the organizers and competitors' expectations. The judges designated for the occasion - Angelo Labate, Pasquale Buco, Tommaso Lancia, Santi Nastasi - judged with professionalism, with unanimous satisfaction from competitors, all to be commended for their fairness and sportsmanship. The companions, Santo Guarna, Francesco Costantino, Domenico Crescente, Giuseppe Costantino, Giuseppe Cernuto, Giovanbattista Crocitti and Francesco Papasidero, were perfect in the signal the proving ground.
A barrage between the first of each field on both Saturday and Sunday meant that the best athletes competed for the awarding of the trophy and the test of excellence. At the end of the competition, after having declared the winner of the Trophy and admitted to the selection for the World Championship Antonino Sigilli, followed by the interventions of the National Vice President Giuseppe Giordano of the Provincial Presidents Domenico Iero, Emanuele Meloni, Riccardo Colistra and Angelo Madia, as well as Luigi Chiappetta, Franco Perdichizzi and Paolo Gullo. Following the delivery of the prizes, Tancredi Labate also expressed gratitude to “the national FIdC, the already responsible for dog activities and friend Tonino D'angelo for the task of delegate that he assigned me, to the whole Calabrian FIdC, to all the participants and to the fraternal friend Gennaro who from heaven guided me in the latter adventure always and in the name of Federcaccia ".
