Four medals: three bronze and one silver. This is the super booty of the Italian biathlon team in the World Cup stage celebrated in Nove Mesto from 1 to 14 March. The first to get on the podium is Lisa Vittozzi, bronze in the Sprint race. The sappadina won her first medal of the season at the end of a perfect race, with zero errors at the shooting range and excellent times on the skis.
A week later, again in the Sprint, Italy wins two more bronzes thanks to Lukas Hofer and Dorothea Wierer. Both athletes struggle a little on skis but conquer the podium thanks to excellent performances at the shooting range: for Lukas it is the first seal of the season, for Dorothea the fourth.
The last joy for the Azzurri arrives on the last day of competition in the specialty that has now become the trademark of the Italian national team: the mixed relay. The quartet signed by Lisa Vittozzi, Dorothea Wierer, Dominik Windisch and Lukas Hofer does not betray expectations and closes the race in second place. Also this time the Italian national team is rewarded by the excellent test at the shooting range, where it fires the cal. 22 of the Biathlon line of Fiocchi (Exacta Winter, Official Winter and TT Winter).
“Congratulations to our athletes for these four beautiful medals - says the President Stefano Fiocchi - We are very proud to know that these goals have also been achieved thanks to the reliability of our products. Together with the Azzurri, we continue to export the quality of Made in Italy to the world ”.
