Giancarlo Gasparini, number one of the Marche regional section of the Libera Caccia association addressed the issue of stopping hunting in the oasis and SIC:
"All stakeholders are now familiar with the order of the Council of State a few days ago with which said Administrative Justice Body suspended hunting in the Natura 2000 sites (SIC and SPA) of the Marche Region thus inhibiting hunting activity in almost 15% of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory of our Region. The reason for the dispute, objected by the Council of State, is the alleged lack of a punctual regional wildlife / hunting planning, planning that should be the basis of any hunting calendar. The Marche Region reiterates that it is true that the hunting wildlife plan has expired but it is equally true that Article 3 of the Marche regional law in force on hunting establishes that: until the entry into force of the new wildlife plans, the existing planning remains effective.
If this interpretation is correct or not, the Regional Administrative Court will sanction it in the next hearing on the merits. So far the facts; now the opinions. This Hunting Association, National Free Hunting Association of the Marche, second association in terms of number of members both in Italy and in the Marche region, has urged and prodded for years theRegional Councilor for Hunting on the need and urgency to have an updated, timely faustic / hunting plan, complete with any necessary environmental analysis (via, vas, etc.), as well as specific control plans for opportunist species, also these with all the trappings of the law .
The above is testified by many meetings held in the Region, the most recent with the Councilor less than a month ago, which was also the subject of a recent press release promptly taken up by the media. The Marche Region, in recent years, has not considered giving priority to general wildlife / hunting planning but to other things related to the hunting world (preparation of a single statute for all AA.TT.CC., recently a regulation relating to ungulates (which is still not implemented), dog trials in the protected institutes of the AA.TT.CC., punctual hunting calendars and more). Only recently has it entrusted the task to external technicians to begin the preparation of the Wildlife Plan. Years will pass before it is adopted. The Region deserves every complaint for this behavior, complaints that we have already made and that we will still do very strong. At this moment, however, the lawyers of this Association work alongside the Regional Advocacy to obtain reason in the courts of justice, we all make a square so that compliance with the regulations by the Region is demonstrated and therefore so that hunters can continue to hunt, in full legitimacy, in the Natura 2000 sites as already provided for by the current hunting calendar. It is therefore strange and sorry to see how some sister Association launches into daring leaps forward or considerations on what has been done in recent years so as to bring to mind the ancient Latin phrase excusatio non petita accusatio manifesta.
It is this attitude that forced us to make these clarifications for the sake of truth. To conclude, we are very sorry that even in this difficult situation for the Marche hunting, in this situation that has some heavy responsibilities on the part of the Region, however, do not think first of all of collaborating in silence with the Region itself to help, all together, to solve the contingent problem immediately in the interest of the whole hunting world, for the safety of those practicing hunting (due to the increase in hunting density on the land that remained huntable) and of the agricultural world (just think of the increase in the population of wild boars because they are not hunted). In this context, we have to read the press releases of some representative of hunters which, in essence, says how good I am, how good my association is. I wonder: is there still someone in our category who is surprised at the situation we find ourselves in ?! ”.
